Who is Patty Tavatanakit?
Patty Tavatanakit is a Thai golfer who joined the LPGA in January 2020 and was the winner of the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year in 2021. After a year and three months, Patty won the ANA Inspiration, the first major of 2021.
Patty was born in Bangkok, Thailand. She attended an International School in Thailand and started playing golf in her teenage years. In 2014, she won the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship for Girls. She continued to win tournaments as an amateur. When she arrived in the US from 2016-2017, she played for the varsity golf team at the UCLA Bruins, winning seven collegiate tournaments. In 2018, she was the lowest scoring amateur at the US Women's Open. Patty is single but has a boyfriend for at least 2 years. She enjoys coffee, travelling and is a bit of a foodie. We had the chance to see and witness Patty's win at the ANA Inspiration in 2021. Patty is one of the longest hitters on the LPGA, averaging 258 yards but her driving accuracy is below 60%.
